Scores This Week!
Poetry - Week 3

The past two weeks we’ve learned about Haiku and Acrostics, two different poetic forms. But today we’re going to talk about a poetic technique. This means that you can use this writing technique in any kind of poem, including haiku and acrostics.

And chances are you’ve heard of this technique before and you use it all the time!

This week we’re talking about Metaphors.

A metaphor is a figure of speech used to describe one thing by suggesting a comparison to another thing.

Check out Coach Kieran’s video for some examples. Also: Guest Coach Scott Caldwell of the New England Revolution drops by again to share a soccer metaphor that he came up with.  Can you dream up five metaphors of your own?

You can send us your favorite or funniest metaphor by clicking the Share Button above. We’ll post some of our favorites to Facebook and Instagram at the end of the week week.
