Over 300 Boston Scores students from 9 different Boston Public Schools participated in a fall end-of-season tournament at Madison Park on November 18.
After a long season of hard work, each team was able to showcase their skills and growth during the tournament. During the regular season, game days are often constrained by school schedules or transportation, but the tournament allows all teams from across the city to play each other.
Middle school sites who participate in our One Hen enrichment program also had mid-season check ins with Boston Scores staff about their projects and plans. During their check ins, they pitched their team’s business proposals and requested start up capital. These business plans will be carried out during the spring semester and each includes a plan to donate proceeds back to support the local community.
Thanks to a great cohort of staff and volunteers who helped set up goals, mark the fields, referee games, field marshal and cheer the scholar-athletes on, the day ran extremely smoothly.
Photos from the day can be found here.
