Boston Scores Project Receives Federal Funding Thanks to MA Congressional Delegation

March 11, 2024
Thanks to the support of Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), along with Representative Ayanna Pressley (MA-07), Boston Scores’ project to build a home for youth soccer in East Boston received federal funding. The MA Congressional delegation secured more than $15 million in federal funding for 12 community-based projects across Greater Boston, including $1.6 million for Boston Scores.
The federal funding supports Boston Scores’ campaign to raise $17.5 million to build a soccer and youth development facility in East Boston. The project includes renovations and infrastructure updates on the Salesian Boys & Girls Club, construction of a mini-pitch for soccer and basketball, technology upgrades for the Boston Scores Coach-Mentor Training Institute, and construction of a multi-field soccer complex. Through this project, Boston Scores will be able to expand so that even more youth across the city have access to free, high-quality afterschool and summer programs.
