How Do Businesses Make Money?

This spring we’ve learned what it means to be a social entrepreneur. A social entrepreneur is someone who creates a business with the goal of generating profits that can be re-invested to make their community (or the world itself!) a better place.

In earlier Scores Service Learning lessons this spring, we’ve thought about issues that matter to us, envisioned the products and services we might create, and worked out some marketing ideas, such as logos, slogans and sales pitches.

But how do we make sure that our business actually makes money? To do, that we need to start with a understanding of how money flows into and out of a business. This week Coach Gaby and Coach Nelson help us understand Revenues, Costs and Profits.
