The Good Garden: Food Security For Kids is an educational program originally developed by the education nonprofit One Hen, Inc. and based on the book The Good Garden: How One Family Went From Hunger to Having Enough by author Katie Smith Milway and illustrator Sylvia Daigneault.
The Good Garden enrichment program introduces kids to the concept of food security and what they can do about the global food crisis. Through stories, interactive games and integrated curriculum, The Good Garden engages kids to help families everywhere go from hunger to having enough.
Boston Scores acquired The Good Garden curriculum following a 2016 merger with One Hen, Inc. The curriculum is not in active distribution at the present time, but the core program materials remain available.
The Good Garden book is available through Amazon by clicking here or on the book cover (right).
The board game Chutes & Ladders: The Good Garden Edition by Hasbro remains available free of charge to educators (shipping charges do apply).
