The Sonnet & the Volta
The sonnet is a 14-line form of poem using a rhyme scheme and a rhythm. This week, Coach Kieran and Coach Ive introduce us to this famous poetic form. We’ll also learn about the sonnet’s secret weapon: the volta – a “turn” in the poem that transforms the reader’s expectations about the poem’s subject or tone.
