Soccer is the foundation of all our programs. As a popular sport requiring minimal equipment, soccer is accessible to children regardless of economic status or physical characteristics. Soccer engages youth with their peers in vigorous activity and provides a platform for teaching fitness and nutrition. Youth who play soccer also acquire fundamental life skills like teamwork, leadership, and commitment.
Poetry is the enrichment focus of our elementary school program. Poetry transcends culture and language, develops creative thinking, promotes problem-solving, and instills public speaking skills. Writing and performing poetry gives youth an outlet to express emotionally charged experiences and can be a tool to inspire change. Creative writing also encourages a personal connection to literature, which deepens classroom engagement. Literacy skills are particularly important to a child’s educational development and have been shown to highly correlate with high school graduation rates.
One Hen Cirriculum guides students through the basics of starting a micro-business. Students learn about loans, marketing, product development, and the important role businesses have in the community. Students then donate the profits from their businesses to address an identified social issue. Students are able to become more socially conscious in their community, while practicing personal and business finance skills.

Our Elementary program builds student’s confidence, academic engagement, and teamwork skills.
In addition to playing on a soccer team, students are taught how to read, write, and perform poetry through the Power of Poetry curriculum in the Fall and the Writing for the Community curriculum in the Spring.
During the fall season, elementary school soccer programs are supplemented with poetry instruction using our award-winning Power of Poetry curriculum. Students use poetry to share their personal experiences, read literary works from diverse authors, and gear up for their performance at the Poetry Slam in front of a packed audience.
During the spring season, students explore their communities and identify a cause or issue that they would like to change. They create an action plan and use the power of their words to address the issue and raise awareness with the help of our Writing for the Community curriculum.
The program officially ends with a soccer tournament and service project presentations at the Jamboree.

New 2026 Programming!
Our middle-school program builds student’s social awareness, and develops tools for students to give back to their community.
In addition to playing on a soccer team, students use our Sport-for-Good curriculum to create an initiative to address an issue that may come from a major sporting event like the World Cup.
This curriculum explores a broad range of topics including: civic engagement, leadership, sports and human rights, sustainability, community planning, and social entrepreneurship.
Our Coach-Mentors guide students through the Kicking Off Change: Using the World Cup to Inspire Social Impact curriculum. Students learn about the positive and negative impacts of hosting the World Cup, then select an impact area to focus on as a team. Teams then build the framework for an initiative meant to counteract this impact area. Together, they write a proposal for a micro-grant to enact their initiative.
Once approved, teams will receive a mini-grant based on their proposal. They are then able to begin implementing their initiative within their community. Teams are challenged with keeping the initiative sustainable past the small grant.
After 1 year of programming, students know how to:
Note: 2026 is the first year using the Kicking Off Change curriculum. These are anticipated program results.
